That’s the cover for my thesis book! Hooray! All I have left to do now is tie up loose ends…then I’ve got to get back to work on comics for MoCCA!

So I’ve been trying to wrap up writing on myriad projects but I did manage to finish some Ghost Cat inking this week. Here’s a preview of the not-cleaned-up first 10 panels.

Nothing to post today! I took a little time to enjoy the holidays and to spend with a visiting family member. I did post about some cool comics I got for Christmas on my livejournal…here.

Also, I finished writing the script for Edna Bright on Wednesday! I’ll be sending it off to my adviser right after I post this. Next up, finish the Frogherder script.

After all this time I finally feel like I’m making progress.

So I’ve been doing allot of writing, trying to get Edna’s script ready to send to my adviser…and working on other projcets this week. I did, however, manage to finish another sketch page, page 21:

And while I was doing all that writing I realized another character was necessary:

Here is my thesis progress comic, also, this is the very first time I’ve ever colored anything on my own. It’s kind of a big deal ’cause I’m colorblind.

Also, I’ve uploaded a handful of Frogherder sketches here. Frogherder is one of three stories I’ll be working on for my thesis.

Here are two redone Edna Bright pages

and a new page

The song I’m using here, like most southern gospel songs, has been recorded by a ton of people. I tried to find the original source but Wikipedia was no help…and that’s pretty much all my research options so if anyone knows where the original came from please let me know. Here it is recorded by ‘The Blind Boys of Alabama’ with a new fangled, but good, video.

Sorry these are so rough. The pages are huge, 14 by 17 and my scanner is iddy biddy so each one had to be scanned in four pieces. When they’re inked I’ll use the schools awesome 11 by 17 scanner.

I also started a new Ghost Cat story this week called ‘Fish Pie’. I’m very excited about it…maybe I’ll post some of it soon.

Lastly, here’s the first page of pencils for my thesis review which I finished yesterday. It’s a three page 11 by 17 inch comic which will be on display at CCS next week…starting Thursday. Everyone in our class is required to do one as well as make a short presentation for the Freshman class. I think this was a great assignment and I had a lot of fun drawing it. I’ll post the other pages after they’re inked and finished up.
